The HR Operations Specialist – Employment Lifecycle is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant support for complex and sensitive employee lifecycle transactions across the EMEA region. As a Tier 2 subject matter expert, the role manages escalated lifecycle cases that cannot be resolved at Tier 1, including onboarding, off-boarding, contract amendments, job changes, and employee data maintenance. The role ensures consistency in service delivery while adapting to local legal requirements, partnering closely with Tier 1 Advisors, Global HR COEs, Payroll, and Legal/Compliance stakeholders. It also contributes to process standardization, knowledge content upkeep, and automation-readiness initiatives. This position plays a key role in enabling high-quality service delivery and employee experience while building scalable operational practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve complex or sensitive Tier 2 cases relating to onboarding, contract changes, job transfers, and terminations across EMEA.
- Execute lifecycle transactions in Workday and other HR systems in compliance with company policy, audit standards, and local employment laws.
- Ensure accurate documentation, data entry, and case records for all actions impacting the employee lifecycle.
- Act as a key contact point for sensitive lifecycle cases, partnering with global and local stakeholders as needed.
- Create and maintain lifecycle-related knowledge articles and SOPs in ServiceNow, ensuring clarity, localisation, and Tier 1 enablement.
- Identify recurring lifecycle issues, propose improvements, and contribute to workflow optimisation and automation readiness.
- Participate in or lead lifecycle-related audit activities, ensuring process adherence and data integrity.
- Support Tier 1 capability building by clarifying process logic, handling complex scenarios, and mentoring on common escalations.
- Partner with HRIS to test or validate Workday enhancements and configuration changes impacting employee lifecycle processes.
- Contribute to process harmonisation and standardisation efforts while allowing for legal or cultural localisation across countries.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent HR certification preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in HR operations or HR service delivery, with strong involvement in employment lifecycle transactions.
- Experience operating in a multi-country environment, with exposure to European labour law and local compliance requirements.
- Prior experience in a shared services or HR Service Center model preferred.
- Proficiency in Workday or similar HRIS is required.
- Familiarity with case management tools (e.g., ServiceNow) is advantageous.
- Competency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and SharePoint, for documentation and reconciliation tasks.
- Excellent understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, job changes, exits, and data maintenance.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage high volumes of transactional work while maintaining quality.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across functions and countries.
- Ability to work with discretion and integrity on sensitive or confidential cases.
- Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify process gaps or compliance risks and suggest improvements.
- Comfortable working in a complex, fast-paced service delivery environment with shifting priorities.
Hybrid role: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home. This role is based out of our HR Service Centre, Speke, Liverpool.
