The Director, Procurement Strategy & Enablement ensures and drives the strategic directions of the procurement operations, responsible for the day-to-day operations and has global responsibility of the Procurement CoE and CoS relationships and operations. This role leads to change initiatives, drives process and systems improvement, and is Procurement’s representative with senior stakeholders within and outside Global Procurement. The role also ensures strategies and programs are in place for supplier risk management, supplier relationship management, Risk & Vulnerability and ESG. The role is further driving the Plasma specific procurement function.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Driving the Global Procurement Strategy in collaboration with Global Head Strategy & innovation, PLT and CPO.
- Strategy development and execution of Plasma specific procurement operations.
- End-to-End responsibility for Procure-to-Pay process and the CoS functional responsibility for the execution of the process.
- Full functional accountability for the externalized CoE, including accountability for value delivery of outsourced procurement categories, end-to-end sourcing process for all projects below 500K USD, as well as the analytics, performance and KPI reporting of all outsourced services.
- Third party risk management process, systems and execution (through CoS) and alignment with CoE.
- Responsible for the daily management of the TPRM Governance setup including alignment across all risk areas.
- Accountable for the CSL Global SRM Process, including process, templates, tools and analytics setup and execution.
- Accountable for the Procurement ESG strategy and execution.
- Accountable for reporting and execution thereof in collaboration with the CoE.
Global Procurement Strategy
- Act as the project lead for the development, implementation and follow up of the Global Procurement Strategy.
- Be the accelerator of the work, including providing the outside in perspective and bringing in innovation to the strategy work and discussion.
- Align with external partners to ensure benchmark, intelligence and operability assessment of proposed strategy work is aligned with experts.
- Drive the alignment with internal senior stakeholders for alignment of strategic direction and securing a strategic business partner approach.
Plasma Procurement Operations
- Functional leadership of the resources within Plasma Procurement Operations.
- Drive the development, implementation and evaluation of a plasma operations strategy to be agreed and signed off by CSL Plasma leadership.
- Drive optimization and automation initiatives for Plasma Procurement Operations.
- Functional responsibility for procurement CoS and CoE.
- Own and drive the CoS Strategy for outsourced operational services (in collaboration with the GBS) such as Procure to Pay, TPRM, Supplier Onboarding, and Procurement Master Data Management.
- Operationally responsible for the execution of the above-mentioned activities, including, setting, measuring, and following up on KPIs and SLAs.
- Act as the CSL Procurement Operational and Tactical escalation point for any issues as well responsible for the governance work.
- Own and drive the CoE Strategy (in collaboration with the GBS) for strategic and tactical procurement activities including Category Management, Sourcing Execution, Analytics, Procurement Intelligence, Risk and Supplier Management, and Systems Support.
- Accountability for agreed procurement hard savings from the CoE activities.
Procure-to-Pay
- Drive the day-to-day execution of the procure to pay process and supervise the CoS resources.
- Identify, evaluate, and in collaboration with Excellence & Innovation team and the CoS Partner, drive automation and optimization opportunities for the P2P process area.
- Fully accountable for the KPI/SLAs for the P2P area and the reporting of the same to the GLG members.
Enterprise Risk Management and Supplier Relationship Management
- Full accountability for the execution of the Enterprise Risk Management area and more specifically the Third-Party Risk Management.
- Drive the automation and optimization of the TPRM area, including process, system and interaction model of TPRM.
- Own and drive the CSL wide R&V Program, with the aim to capture risk and reduce vulnerability through individual projects.
- Own and drive the CSL Supplier Relationship Management program and oversee its implementation and execution.
- Create the case for change and lead business case work including engaging with senior stakeholders to gain approval and endorsement for procurement change projects.
Process improvement
- Identify and drive the implementation of innovative practices and technologies to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to improve procurement processes and systems across direct and indirect spend for the entire Strategy & Enablement area.
- Collaborate with IT and digital/data teams to optimise procurement tools and platforms.
- Lead the collaboration with external strategic partners as well as the GBS to deliver improved process efficiency and continuous improvement efforts for processes within Strategy & Enablement.
Systems improvement
- Identify and support in implementing enhancements to procurement systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across processes.
- Drive adoption of innovative technologies and digital tools that streamline workflows and support continuous improvement in procurement operations.
Strategy input
- Collaborate with the Procurement Business Partner to provide insights and recommendations that inform strategic direction.
- Contribute to strategy development through market analysis and performance insights.
Change management
- Be part of driving change initiatives within the procurement function, managing stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Facilitate smooth transitions and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and deliver change communication strategies aligned with organisational goals.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline is required.
- Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in operations, transformation, or change management is preferred.
- Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Change Management (e.g., Prosci), or similar are desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in procurement, operations, leadership or transformation roles.
- Proven success in leading process improvement and change initiatives within complex, multi-cultural and matrixed organization.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects and program setups.
- Experience in developing and implementing performance metrics and reporting frameworks.
- Strong background in stakeholder engagement, systems optimization, and strategic collaboration.
- Familiarity with procurement technologies and digital transformation practices.
