We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to support the delivery, reliability, and scalability of modern software platforms and infrastructure. This role focuses on cloud operations, automation, CI/CD, and operational best practices to enable efficient and secure software delivery across engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Administer and automate VMware vSphere environments and virtual machines.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment, testing, and infrastructure management.
  • Support and optimise CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, and TeamCity.
  • Manage application deployments, configuration, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Develop backup, recovery, rollback, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Ensure infrastructure is secure, scalable, highly available, and aligned with best practices.
  • Support compliance with security standards, including ISO 27001 principles.
  • Collaborate with developers, infrastructure, security, and operational teams to support the software development lifecycle.
  • Maintain clear technical and operational documentation.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong commercial experience in a DevOps, Infrastructure, or Operations role.
  • Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management.
  • Experience deploying and supporting cloud-hosted applications.
  • VMware vSphere administration and automation experience.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and infrastructure best practices.
  • Knowledge of networking and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Desirable

  • Experience with Git or other version control systems.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and modern DevOps tooling.
