Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit a Head of Design - Modular Buildings. This individual will act as Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act for Modular Construction projects (excluding higher‑risk buildings), coordinating design activities to manage and reduce building safety risks and ensure statutory compliance across off‑site manufacture and on‑site installation.
As they continue to grow at a rapid rate, they are looking for a very driven Technical professional to join the team and they are offering a long-term opportunity for the right candidate, with a strong package and good development prospects, based from the Midlands.
They are looking for applicants with proven technical expertise in Modular Buildings, Timber Frame Buildings, Steel Framed Buildings, Bathroom Pods or Sips Panels but they would also be interested to speak with candidates from a Main Contracting / Traditional Build background.
The business is very well established, has a strong brand and a great reputation supplying buildings to clients in the Education sector, the Commercial industry and the Healthcare sector so experience of working in those sectors would be beneficial to your application.
As a Head of Design - Modular Buildings, you will work closely with the Design and Estimating team who manage initial designs and pricing for projects. The role will also involve adapting existing buildings and further developing them through client discussion and commercial approvals. You will work on projects ranging between £150,000 and £15,000,000 in this role and you will be measured on the projects being delivered smoothly, on time, to spec and the overall quality of the work.
The role offers excellent, diverse and potentially rapid opportunities for Career Progression into more senior management positions in the company for the successful applicant so you will need to be an ambitious and forward-thinking individual. You must possess a proven track record of working on the technical side of either a Modular Buildings company, a Timber Frame Buildings business, a Steel Framed Buildings company or a Bathroom Pods organisation or you will have strong technical experience in Main Contracting / Traditional Build.
