Overview

In this role you will lead environmental management and community engagement across the mining site, aligning with regulatory requirements and corporate sustainability commitments. You will drive environmental stewardship, coordinate stakeholder engagement, and mentor a team to deliver compliant, transparent operations. You will work closely with regulators, auditors, and leadership to report on progress and improve performance. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused opportunity in a dynamic mining operation with real impact on environmental and community outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site environmental management programs including monitoring, rehabilitation, and compliance reporting
  • Manage community engagement and consultation activities with stakeholders, events, and sponsorships
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with environmental approvals and sustainability commitments
  • Prepare and present reports to regulators, auditors and internal leadership
  • Coach and mentor a team of Environmental and Community Advisors
  • Promote a strong sustainability and environmental stewardship culture on site
  • Coordinate and lead community activities, meetings and handle complaints

Key requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in environmental management within mining/resources
  • Strong knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to engage regulators, auditors and community stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proven capability to coach, mentor and lead high-performing teams
  • Current valid driver’s licence
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or related discipline (implied)
