Overview

Package: £60,000 - £75,000, Bonus, Car or Car Allowance, Pension, Health Insurance and Life Insurance.

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit a Head of Design - Modular Buildings.

This person will act as Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act for Modular Construction projects (excluding higher‑risk buildings), coordinating design activities to manage and reduce building safety risks and ensure statutory compliance across off‑site manufacture and on‑site installation.

As they continue to grow at a rapid rate, they are looking for a very driven technical professional to join the team with a long-term opportunity, strong package and good development prospects, based in the Midlands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design coordination for Modular Buildings projects, ensuring statutory compliance and safety across off-site manufacture and on-site installation.
  • Act as Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act for modular construction projects (excluding higher‑risk buildings).
  • Collaborate with Design and Estimating teams to manage initial designs and pricing for projects.
  • Adapt existing buildings and further develop them through client discussions and commercial approvals.
  • Deliver projects ranging from £150,000 to £15,000,000 on time, to specification and with high quality.
  • Support career progression within the company by contributing to a culture of training and development.

Qualifications

  • Proven technical expertise in Modular Buildings, Timber Frame Buildings, Steel Framed Buildings, Bathroom Pods or Sips Panels; or strong technical experience in Main Contracting / Traditional Build.
  • Experience in sectors such as Education, Commercial, or Healthcare would be advantageous.
  • Ambitious, forward-thinking, driven to grow their career with the business.
  • Driven, Enthusiastic, Positive, Self-Sufficient and Hard Working; Flexible with Gravitas and a desire to succeed.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of design in relation to Building Regulation compliant solutions.
