Overview
In this role you lead systems integration for warehouse automation projects, from solution design to handover, shaping the automation capability of a growing Australian engineering business. You’ll work across customers, partners and internal teams to deliver integrated solutions using multiple technologies. You’ll own the integration layer, influence the automation roadmap, and help build a high-performing automation team with leadership potential.
Responsibilities
- Translate operational requirements into technical solutions during customer discovery
- Define system architecture, data flows and integration interfaces
- Work with WMS, WES, WCS, RCS, ERP, APIs and third-party platforms
- Support solution design across robotics, conveyors, ASRS, AMRs, AGVs and related tech
- Collaborate with OEMs, software vendors and integration partners
- Provide technical input into customer proposals and solution development
- Lead and assist FAT, SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting and handover
- Develop in-house testing and prototyping to validate solutions and reduce risk
- Build internal automation knowledge, standards and processes
- Foster strong relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders
Key requirements
- Engineering degree required
- 5+ years in warehouse automation, systems integration, robotics, or related field
- Hands-on project delivery and systems integration experience
- Strong understanding of systems architecture and cross-technology communication
- Exposure to WMS, WES, WCS and/or ERP environments
- Experience with APIs, data mapping or software integration
- Solid PLC knowledge (Siemens, Rockwell or Beckhoff)
- Exposure to AMRs, AGVs, ASRS, conveyors, robotics or sortation
- FAT, SAT, commissioning and troubleshooting experience
- Strong problem-solving with ability to work autonomously
