5 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Senior Charity Recruiter Job title: Head of Business Development Location: SE11– Hybrid 6 Month Contract Full time: 37.5 hours per week Job Purpose: To secure contracts and drive business growth. Generate funds through tenders, grants, proposals, and sponsorships. Lead a small team focused on income generation, managing existing contracts and developing new opportunities alongside the Senior Leadership Team. Collaborate across the organisation to create service models, budgets, and partnerships for proposals, ensuring high-quality submissions that highlight the charity\’s impact. Represent at external meetings, foster new partnerships, and attend tender presentations as needed. Implement continuous improvement, share insights, and shape service delivery to meet the strategic goals. Person Specification Proven ability and experience in business development (tenders, trusts and foundations), including designing services, producing budgets, developing new products and forming strategic and operational partnerships. Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and develop staff and manage upwards. Excellent proof-reading and editing skills with an exceptional eye for accuracy and attention to detail with strong Microsoft Office skills as well as IT. Develop relationships/partnerships with external stakeholders and negotiate contractual terms. Job Responsibilities Leadership: Manage, train, and develop a small business development team for proposals and sponsorships. Foster a resilient, feedback-driven team culture with continuous improvement. Provide training on business development and tender writing across the organisation. Support and advise the Senior Leadership Team. Bid Preparation & Management: Identify and research new business opportunities, tenders, and funding sources. Lead bid/no-bid decisions, service model development, and partnership building. Oversee tender processes, ensuring quality assurance and compliance. Manage team resources, ensuring timely, high-quality proposal submissions. Tender Writing & Quality Assurance: Write and review tender responses, ensuring alignment with evaluation criteria. Coordinate input from teams, ensuring accurate, compelling narratives and budgets. Handover & Implementation: Ensure smooth contract handover to finance and operations post-award.
