As a key member of the Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for service, maintenance, integration, testing, and support of radio communications systems and related technologies. You’ll provide both field and workshop-based technical support, engage directly with clients, and contribute to building a high-performance, agile team environment providing first class customer service across both branches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute installation and maintenance and service work across radio networks, including IP networks and windows applications.
  • Support system integration, planning, design, implementation, and evaluation activities.
  • Contribute to product acceptance, reporting non-conformances, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Perform repairs, programming, testing, and code plug maintenance for radio equipment.
  • Liaise with clients to deliver high-quality service and build strong long-term relationships.
  • Participate in planned/unplanned works and after-hours roster commitments.
  • Attend toolbox meetings and ensure technicians have the correct information, materials, and tools.
  • Maintain technical records, procedures, and PMV schedules.
  • Mentor apprentices and junior technicians, supporting ongoing training and capability development.
  • Assist other branch teams with technical input for RFIs, bids, and tenders.
  • Prepare documentation for implementation plans, site surveys, and internal/external reports.
  • Support coordination of workshop activities including rack builds and system testing.
  • Supervise apprentices/trainees as required.
  • Provide site support to meet national team resource demands.
  • Collaborate with technical teams across multiple branches and communicate resource needs.
  • Provide feedback to management for technical services performance reviews.
Skills and experience needed
  • Knowledge of Electronics Engineering, RF Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of network-based radio systems, an advantage.
  • Experience with wireless technologies, IP networking, and microwave systems an advantage.
  • Desirable experience with PA systems, displays, UPS, and complex antenna systems.
  • Proven experience in technical service delivery, including planning, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to integrate technical solutions with broader business and user requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills, especially under time-critical conditions.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align work with broader organisational goals.
  • Collaborative team member who values communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to coach and develop others, fostering a high-performance team culture.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to building long-term client relationships.
