A well-established fit-out contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to deliver retail and banking refurbishment projects across Birmingham and the wider Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy contractor with a strong pipeline of fast-paced fit-out projects. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of sites, ensuring each project is delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard.

The Role

  • Managing retail and banking fit-out and refurbishment projects from site set-up through to handover
  • Coordinating subcontractors, direct labour and site logistics
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety across the project
  • Monitoring progress against the construction programme
  • Managing quality control, snagging and final handover
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, building management and internal project teams
  • Chairing site meetings and providing regular progress reports
  • Managing works within live or occupied environments
  • Ensuring disruption to customers, staff and neighbouring businesses is kept to a minimum
  • Coordinating out-of-hours or weekend works when required

The Successful Candidate

  • Previous experience managing retail or banking fit-out projects
  • A strong understanding of fast-track refurbishment and fit-out programmes
  • Experience delivering projects within live or customer-facing environments
  • The ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain demanding deadlines
  • Excellent communication, organisation and client-facing skills
  • A strong working knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • First Aid at Work
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout Birmingham and the Midlands
