Multiskilled Operative – Insurance Repairs & Remediation Location: Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire & surrounding CW postcode areas Salary: £17.00 – £18.00 per hour Job Type: Full-time, Permanent We are currently recruiting for a Multiskilled Operative to join an established and growing insurance repairs and maintenance business, covering Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and surrounding CW postcode areas. The company specialises in restoring and repairing properties following flood, fire, smoke, storm, impact and water damage, working with some of the UK's leading insurance providers. This is a fantastic opportunity for a practical, customer-focused tradesperson who enjoys variety and wants to work on different properties and repair projects rather than carrying out the same work every day. The Role As a Multiskilled Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of repair and reinstatement works within domestic and commercial properties. Typical duties will include: * Carrying out general building and property repairs following insurance claims. * Plastering, patching and making good damaged areas. * Basic carpentry and joinery. * Hanging doors and carrying out minor adjustments. * Basic plumbing repairs and maintenance. * Tiling and flooring repairs where required. * Painting and decorating. * Repairing and replacing damaged fixtures and fittings. * Carrying out remedial works following water, flood, fire, smoke and impact damage. * Completing snagging and finishing works to a high standard. * Working from job sheets and following project requirements. * Liaising professionally with customers while working in their homes. * Keeping customers informed and providing excellent customer service. * Maintaining a clean, safe and tidy working environment. * Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. About You We're looking for someone who is genuinely multi-skilled and confident carrying out a variety of property maintenance and repair tasks. You will ideally have: * Previous experience as a Multiskilled Operative, Maintenance Operative, Property Maintenance Engineer or similar. * Good knowledge of general building and property repairs. * Experience across several trades such as carpentry, plastering, plumbing, tiling and decorating. * Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship. * A professional and customer-focused approach. * The ability to work independently and manage your own workload. * Good communication skills. * A full UK driving licence. * The flexibility to travel across Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and CW postcode areas.
