Quantity Surveyor - Residential Developer

Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor – Facade & M&E Packages Location: Bermondsey, London Employer: Tier 1 Residential Developer Day Rate: £380 – £400 a day Our client is a leading Tier 1 residential developer known for delivering high-quality projects in prime locations across London. With a reputation for excellence, they are currently working on a large-scale, high-profile residential development in Bermondsey and are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their team. As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the Facade and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) packages for a major residential development. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with project teams, contractors, and subcontractors to manage costs, maintain accurate reporting, and provide cost-effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and manage the Facade and M&E packages, ensuring the cost-effective delivery of works. * Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts for these key packages. * Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage changes to scope or design. * Work closely with the project team to monitor progress, assess risks, and implement mitigation strategies. * Manage tender processes, including the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of bids. * Prepare and review monthly valuations and cost reports. * Liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and timely resolution of any issues. * Review and negotiate variations, claims, and final accounts. * Provide accurate and timely advice on financial matters to senior management. Key Requirements: * A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (MRICS or working towards preferred). * Proven experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor, ideally on large residential developments, with a strong background in Facade and M&E packages. * Experience working with a Tier 1 developer or contractor is essential. * Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC forms. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
