The Opportunity

A leading UK workplace and construction specialist is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager / Senior Project Manager on a freelance basis, with an immediate start available.

The business has an established reputation for delivering high-quality workplace and commercial environments, providing an integrated approach across strategy, design and construction.

Their portfolio includes major CAT A and CAT B commercial fit outs, fast-track workplace transformations and complex projects for leading UK and international organisations.

They are now looking for a strong Project Manager who can take responsibility for overseeing multiple live projects across the UK, ensuring they are delivered safely, commercially and to the highest possible standard.

The Role

As Project Manager / Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple construction and fit out projects nationwide.

You will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, taking projects from pre-construction through to completion and ensuring that programme, quality, cost and compliance requirements are consistently achieved.

The successful candidate will have a strong all-round understanding of construction, combined with particular experience within high-end healthcare and commercial fit out environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of multiple projects across the UK.
  • Take overall responsibility for project performance, programme, quality and delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants and client teams.
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear progress reporting.
  • Monitor project programmes, identify risks and implement appropriate mitigation.
  • Manage project costs and commercial performance in conjunction with the wider team.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with relevant health & safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Coordinate design, construction and technical requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and resolve technical and operational issues effectively.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact throughout delivery.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and quality are maintained.
  • Provide leadership and direction across project teams.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with a strong background in construction and fit out.

You will ideally have

  • Proven experience delivering commercial fit out projects, particularly at the higher end of the market.
  • Strong experience within healthcare environments or similarly technically demanding sectors.
  • A comprehensive understanding of all aspects of construction and project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems, including the ability to understand, coordinate and manage complex mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong programme and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • The confidence to work autonomously and make decisions.
  • A strong understanding of health & safety, quality and compliance.
  • The ability to travel nationally as required.
