Maintenance Supervisor – Wandsworth, South West London We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join an established and growing property maintenance business. The position will be based around Wandsworth and South West London, with occasional travel across London required. This is a hands-on supervisory role, ideal for someone with a background in social housing repairs, property maintenance or a specialist contractor environment, who is confident managing operatives, maintaining quality standards and dealing with clients and residents. The Role * Oversee the day-to-day delivery of maintenance and repair works across Wandsworth and wider London. * Manage and coordinate a team of maintenance operatives and tradespeople. * Ensure operatives' workloads are planned and utilised efficiently. * Monitor the operational and commercial performance of the maintenance contract. * Ensure works are completed to agreed timescales and required quality standards. * Carry out pre-work, work-in-progress and post-work inspections. * Ensure operatives follow Health & Safety procedures and Safe Systems of Work. * Carry out regular vehicle and equipment inspections. * Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day operational issues. * Take ownership of jobs escalated by clients, residents or senior management. * Attend client and operational meetings when required. * Provide technical guidance and support to operatives and administrative staff. * Deliver toolbox talks and support the training and development of operatives. * Identify performance or quality issues and work with management to implement improvements. * Support the delivery of excellent customer service to residents and clients. About You * Previous experience in a Maintenance Supervisor or similar supervisory role. * Experience within social housing, property maintenance, repairs or a specialist contractor environment. * Previous experience supervising maintenance operatives or tradespeople. * Strong technical and trade knowledge with a practical approach to problem solving. * Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements and Safe Systems of Work. * Relevant Health & Safety qualifications such as SSSTS or CSCS. * Strong organisational and time-management skills. * Excellent written, verbal and customer-facing communication skills. * Confident making decisions independently and taking ownership of issues. * Full UK manual driving licence is essential.
