An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join a growing main contractor on a flagship £140m residential development in Luton, comprising 292 new homes and a Community Hub. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering a major residential scheme while joining a business experiencing significant growth.
The Role
- Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for managing a major section of the development, leading site teams and subcontractors to ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the day-to-day management of a significant section of the project.
- Managing Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and subcontractors.
- Driving programme performance and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
- Maintaining exceptional standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Coordinating trades, logistics and construction activities across multiple work fronts.
- Chairing subcontractor and progress meetings.
- Monitoring quality throughout the build and ensuring successful handovers.
- Working closely with the Project Manager to identify and resolve construction challenges.
- Producing progress reports and contributing to project planning and delivery.
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager working for a main contractor.
- Strong residential new build experience is highly desirable.
- Experience delivering large-scale housing or apartment developments.
- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site teams effectively.
- Strong understanding of construction programming, quality control and health & safety.
- SMSTS, CSCS Card and First Aid at Work are essential.
