About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee the first phase of a major refurbishment programme at a school campus. This initial phase involves the refurbishment of 53 bedrooms, en-suite facilities, and associated communal areas, with further extensive works planned across the site in subsequent phases. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional to take a leading role in delivering high-quality refurbishment works within a live educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day site operations to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and housekeeping throughout the project.
- Ensure compliance with construction programmes and project specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
- Liaise with the client, project team, consultants, and school representatives.
- Manage site documentation, records, permits, and reporting requirements.
- Identify and resolve site issues efficiently to minimise disruption and delays.
- Ensure works are carried out with consideration to the operational requirements of the school environment.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering refurbishment projects.
- Strong understanding of construction health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors effectively.
- Valid SMSTS certification.
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (required due to the nature).
