We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finishing Manager to join our team on a major school refurbishment project involving the renovation of 50+ student bedrooms and associated communal areas. This is a key site-based role, responsible for driving the project through the final stages of construction, ensuring all works are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all finishing trades across the project.
- Oversee quality control and ensure all works meet project specifications and client expectations.
- Produce, monitor, and close out snagging lists.
- Coordinate inspections with the client, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Ensure bedrooms and communal areas are completed and handed over in line with programme milestones.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and maintain productivity on site.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Site Manager to achieve successful project delivery.
- Manage final commissioning, testing, and handover activities where required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Finishing Manager on refurbishment or fit-out projects.
- Strong knowledge of finishing trades and quality standards.
- Experience managing snagging, defect resolution, and handovers.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification preferred.
- Previous experience working within education, residential, student accommodation, or similar refurbishment environments would be advantageous.
