External Bias Site Manager – New Build School Project
We are seeking an experienced External Bias Site Manager to join our site team on a major new build school project.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and technically competent Site Manager to take ownership of the external envelope package while ensuring the highest standards of quality, coordination, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of the external envelope package from commencement through to completion.
- Oversee installation of the Inavari concrete wrap wall system.
- Manage all roofing works, ensuring quality, programme, and safety requirements are achieved.
- Carry out and manage quality assurance inspections across all external works.
- Undertake and verify setting out using the client's robotic setting out system.
- Establish and maintain site datums, control points, and gridlines.
- Set out piling works and ensure accurate coordination with subsequent construction activities.
- Oversee external concrete pours, including verticality testing and compliance checks.
- Ensure quality assurance for drainage installation and associated infrastructure.
- Coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress, and maintain programme milestones.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Design Team, and Client representatives to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance throughout the project.
- Future Project Scope
Following completion of the main external envelope works, the successful candidate will continue to lead the delivery of:
- Section 278 highway works.
- Final external infrastructure and associated completion activities.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale new build construction projects.
- Strong background managing external envelope packages.
- Experience with reinforced concrete structures and external concrete works.
- Competent in setting out, including use of robotic total station technology.
- Experience establishing datums, gridlines, and site control.
- Knowledge of drainage installation and quality assurance processes.
- Experience coordinating piling activities and follow-on works.
- Understanding of roofing systems and external façade construction.
- Strong organisational, communication, and subcontractor management skills.
- SMSTS, CSCS (Manager), and First Aid qualifications.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on education, healthcare, or public sector projects.
- Familiarity with the Inavari concrete wrap wall system (or similar proprietary envelope systems).
- Previous experience delivering Section 278 highway works.
