Sash Window Carpenter Location: South London Salary: £200pd Job Type: Permanent Company: Specialist Subcontractor The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Carpenter / Joiner with specialist sash window experience to join a well-established subcontractor working across South London. This is a hands-on role for someone with a strong background in traditional timber sash windows, covering both new installations and the refurbishment of existing windows. Key Responsibilities * Installing sash windows into existing box frames. * Removing and replacing existing sash windows where required. * Refurbishing and restoring existing timber sash windows. * Carefully removing sashes and associated components. * Scraping back old paint and preparing timber surfaces. * Sanding and preparing windows ready for redecoration. * Carrying out minor timber repairs and replacing damaged sections where required. * Repainting and finishing sash windows to a high standard. * Working with sash cords, weights, pulleys and traditional window mechanisms. * Ensuring windows are correctly fitted, aligned and operating smoothly. * Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail. * Working safely and professionally in occupied properties and on live sites. About You The ideal candidate will have: * Proven experience as a Carpenter, Joiner or Sash Window Specialist. * Previous hands-on experience installing and refurbishing sash windows. * Good knowledge of traditional timber sash window construction. * Experience with preparation, sanding, scraping and painting of timber windows. * Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work. * The ability to work independently and manage your own workload. * A professional and reliable approach when working in customers' homes. * A full UK driving licence. * Your own tools and van to begin with.
