About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager / Finishing Manager to oversee the final stages of a prestigious high-rise residential development in Canary Wharf. You will take ownership of the internal finishing works and manage the successful handover of 70 high-quality apartments, ensuring every unit meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Senior Site Manager, subcontractors, and client representatives, you will be responsible for driving the completion programme, managing defects, and delivering a seamless handover process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all finishing trades to achieve programme milestones.
- Oversee internal finishing works, ensuring exceptional quality throughout.
- Coordinate and manage apartment inspections, snagging, and de-snagging.
- Drive subcontractor performance to ensure timely completion of works.
- Manage the handover process for 70 residential apartments.
- Ensure all apartments are completed to specification and ready for client inspection.
- Coordinate quality assurance inspections and maintain high finishing standards.
- Work closely with the commercial and design teams to resolve outstanding issues.
- Monitor progress against programme and proactively resolve delays.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed on site.
- Compile and coordinate handover documentation, O&M manuals, and completion records where required.
- Maintain excellent communication with the client, consultants, and internal project team.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Finishing Manager on high-rise residential developments.
- Track record of successfully delivering apartment handovers on large residential schemes.
- Strong eye for detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent knowledge of internal fit-out and finishing trades.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate complex finishing programmes.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
