We are currently recruiting for a CAD Data Quality Analyst to join a leading automotive manufacturer based in Gaydon. Working within the Virtual Build & Test Operations Team, you will support the delivery of the Virtual Series across multiple vehicle platforms, ensuring the quality and integrity of engineering geometry and CAD data throughout the vehicle development process. This role focuses on identifying issues within CAD data and geometry, inspecting models, capturing concerns, and working closely with engineering teams to drive resolution and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in ensuring potential issues are identified early, reducing downstream programme risks and supporting the successful delivery of future vehicle programmes.
The Role
- Review and inspect engineering geometry using CAD and PLM systems, identifying quality concerns and compatibility issues before they impact programme delivery.
- Document and track issues through JIRA, ensuring engineers have a clear understanding of the concern and supporting resolution activities where required.
- Work independently, managing your own workload and taking ownership of issue investigation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and inspect CAD geometry to identify quality and compatibility issues.
- Analyse engineering data across multiple vehicle platforms.
- Capture, document and track issues using JIRA.
- Clearly communicate findings to engineering stakeholders.
- Participate in CAD review activities and support issue resolution.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Support the delivery of Virtual Series activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in CAD quality processes and standards.
- Ensure issues are accurately recorded and managed through to closure.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong automotive engineering background.
- Experience using CATIA V5.
- Experience using Teamcenter Engineering (TCE) and/or Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX).
- Good understanding of vehicle geometry and engineering data.
- Experience reviewing, inspecting or validating CAD models.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Confident learning new tools, processes and technologies.
Ideal Candidate Background
- Previous experience as a CAD Data Quality Analyst, CAD Quality Engineer, DMU Analyst, Virtual Validation Engineer, or similar.
- A design engineering background with experience checking and validating geometry.
- A quality engineering background combined with strong CAD knowledge.
- Experience identifying issues in CAD models and communicating them effectively to engineering teams.
