You will learn complex construction products, own your own customer portfolio, and earn the skills to win high-value contractor business. The CS Group supplies technical products used in the construction industry and works directly with trade clients who need reliable product knowledge and service.

The Mission

You will master our product range and take ownership of a starter book of customers. You will convert product knowledge into trusted advice, reliable order management, and growing account value. Over time you will learn to pitch and win larger, technical contracts.

The Daily Grind

Your first eight weeks are a product boot camp: stock work, inventory, manual data and handling core product lines so you learn the details. After that you join the sales team, pick up the phone, manage orders, build relationships and protect account margins. Later you will run outbound hunting to target bigger contractors and technical opportunities.

The Reality

This role demands hunger, resilience and a grounded work ethic. You must be happy to do the unglamorous, detail‑led work at the start and put in the hours to learn the trade. If you want a comfortable desk job or easy wins, this is not for you.

The Blueprint: Your Core Responsibilities

  • Product Boot Camp: You will learn the complex product range by working directly with stock, managing inventory and processing manual data during an intensive initial project. Success looks like deep technical knowledge and the ability to speak confidently and accurately about core product lines to trade clients.
  • Customer Launch / Account Ownership: You will take ownership of a starter portfolio, pick up the phone, build relationships, manage active orders and deliver reliable service day‑to‑day. Success looks like consistent order fulfilment, satisfied clients and measurable growth in account value through dependable account management.
  • Outbound Business Development: You will be taught to identify larger contractors, pitch technical solutions, negotiate margins and actively pursue higher‑value contract business. Success looks like winning new, high‑value contracts and steadily expanding your sales pipeline.
  • Operational Grit & Continuous Learning: You will do the hands‑on “donkey work,” apply strong numerical accuracy and IT competency, welcome feedback and close the loop on tasks until mastered. Success looks like operational precision, improved margin outcomes and clear readiness to progress into higher‑value account management.

The Payoff

Location: Burton-On-Trent. You will gain full product mastery, own your customer portfolio and follow a clear path into high‑value account management within a fast‑moving, Private Equity‑backed business that cuts through bureaucracy, rewards performance and invests heavily in your development.

The CS Group DNA (Our Non‑Negotiables)

  • High Agency & Extreme Ownership: You take total responsibility for your learning, your projects and your customer outcomes, driving tasks to completion without waiting for a playbook.
  • Relentless Resourcefulness: You maximise the impact of every pound and hour, using creativity and practical problem‑solving to move deals and orders forward before asking for capital.
  • Product & Quality Obsession: You commit to mastering complex construction products and apply uncompromising attention to detail in every specification and customer interaction.
  • High Velocity: You act quickly and decisively in a fast‑paced trade environment, prioritising swift execution to keep momentum on accounts and learning.
  • Failure as Fuel: You treat setbacks and feedback as data to refine your approach, iterate fast, and prevent repeat errors.

Final Comments

You will not be handed instant success — we want someone hungry and ready to do the donkey work at the start to earn product mastery and customer trust. You must be hardworking, resilient and comfortable on the phone while you learn technical specs and margins. If you want to build a career from the ground up, take ownership of your results and move quickly into high‑value account work, we want to hear from you.
