We now have a great opportunity for a highly organised and experienced Transport Coordinator
(09:30 to 18:30) to join our team based at our South Luffenham site.
The primary responsibility is to ensure the transport plan is executed as planned by the Planning team.
The Transport Coordinator will also be the lead on planning and executing the night trunking plan and will manage the night driving team key activities include liaising with drivers, customers and the wider logistics team to ensure the effective and efficient transportation of products.
The role is key in supporting the Planning Manager, Transport Planner and ensuring customers service excellence.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Ensure that the daily route planning is executed and any deviations from schedule dealt with accordingly and communicated to key stakeholders.
- Assist with effective route planning, helping monitor and manage daily driver resource allocation of night trunking.
- Liaise with customers to ensure high standards of communication are maintained and that customer expectations are always met.
- Partner with the Warehouse team to achieve the smooth transport of goods from warehouse to end point using available fleet.
- Ensure that collection requirements are met, liaising with the pad staff with loading and unloading. Loading manifests being kept up to date.
- Complete the driver manifests and delivery notes, ensuring instructions are accurate and addressing any discrepancies.
- Ensure the Transport Management System is up to date and used to its full capacity.
- Support the management of agency/subcontractor drivers, ensuring they’re legally compliant whilst on assignment, working with the FORS & Compliance Supervisor to ensure all insurances and compliance measures have been considered.
- Effectively communicate with the transport team, across the office as well as drivers working remotely.
- Raise all customer concerns in line with the structured complaints process.

- Proven experience in a transport coordination role, with a strong understanding about business processes and contracted SLAs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and logical approach to issues that arise in the customer contract.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions to improve transport function processes through KPIs.
- Leadership & Communication
Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships, both internally as well as externally with customer representatives.
