We currently have a great opportunity for a qualified and experienced Financial Controller / Head of Finance to join our team based at our South Luffenham site.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks
  • Financial Management and Reporting
  • Weekly reporting and analysis of company performance for the previous week
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Oversight year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors
  • Oversee Credit Control Function
    • Management of credit control process, corresponding directly with customers as necessary
  • Team Management
    • Managing the transactional team and overseeing/reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, group payroll and accounting functions
  • Cashflow and Working Capital
    • Manage cash flow across the group, monitoring funds and bank transactions
    • Arrangement of hire purchase funding
  • Financial Controls & Compliance
    • Develop and maintain internal controls
    • Ensure compliance across the group with HMRC (VAT, PAYE, Corporation tax, etc)
    • Responsibility for the statutory records of the business and ensuring that the financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively
    • Ensure compliance with other legislation as necessary, such as Employer Packing Regulations
  • Business Partnering
    • Work with directors and department heads to support strategy and decision making
    • Liaise with and support the Finance Managers of the two sister businesses
    • Assist group FD as necessary with budgeting and banking/insurance/legal relationships
    Job Knowledge and Skills
    • ACA, ACCA, Cima or equivalent
    • Sound understanding of PAYE, VAT and corporation tax
    • Proven track record of successfully managing a finance team
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Experience of project management
    • Strong IT skills, with a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Experience with Xero accounting software packages is ideal
    • Understanding of Payroll, TMS and WMS systems is preferred
