Warehouse Manager

C.S Ellis Logistics Ltd is a fourth-generation, family-run logistics company celebrating 93 years in business in 2026. Operating from three East Midlands locations, we combine traditional values with professional, customer-focused service—and we are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to help drive the next stage of our growth.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead the day-to-day warehouse operation within a busy, multi-client 3PL environment. You will ensure the safe, efficient and compliant receipt, storage, stock management and dispatch of customer products, while delivering excellent service, inventory accuracy and operational performance.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead, motivate and develop warehouse supervisors, team leaders and operatives.
- Manage goods-in, returns, put-away, reworking, order fulfilment and dispatch.
- Deliver customer SLAs, productivity targets and accurate stock control.
- Maintain compliance with BRCGS Storage & Distribution, ISO standards and company procedures.
- Champion a positive health and safety culture and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
- Optimise labour, equipment and warehouse space to improve efficiency.
- Use operational data and KPIs to identify and deliver continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
What we’re looking for
- At least two years’ experience in a warehouse management role within 3PL, logistics, fulfilment or distribution.
- Proven experience leading warehouse teams in a customer-focused operation.
- Experience of BRCGS Storage & Distribution standards and warehouse management systems.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control, health and safety and continuous improvement.
- Excellent leadership, planning, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence using data and KPIs to manage performance and make decisions.
- GCSEs, or equivalent, in English and Mathematics.
- IOSH Managing Safely, or willingness to obtain it.
Lean Six Sigma accreditation and forklift truck instructor or operational equipment qualifications would be advantageous.
