Versatile is a full-service Live Events & Brand Marketing company operating from a central base in Rutland in the East Midlands. We have an excellent reputation built on a decade of experience creating exceptional Brand Marketing Roadshows and Live Events. Our Production Fabricator / CNC Router Operator is an integral part of the team, ensuring that there is close collaboration between the production team (including AV), sales and operations teams to support with the smooth delivery of assets defecting, production and support with fleet maintenance.
To strive to highest quality delivery on all jobs, big or small, onsite or offsite. Previous experience of working with CNC routers and CAD drawing ability is essential, along with good woodworking or fabrication skills. Based on a 5 in 7 working pattern, this role requires a good level of flexibility, being a great communicator, and providing support to the wider business as required.
JOB PURPOSE & SCOPE- To oversee the production machines including, but not limited to CNC, vinyl printer, 3D printer.
- To create toolpaths using VCarve / Vectric software.
- To defect and fix Versatile owned assets.
- To defect and fix client owned assets.
- To support with brand new asset creation as per budgets and visuals.
- To support with bespoke build stand creation as per budgets and visuals.
- To work with budgets set out by production manager / sales team, for new or defect work.
- To support sales team with creation of production quotes including details of materials.
- Follow cost capture process for all workshop / warehouse parts, consumables and labour.
- Maintain a high level of H&S standards to keep the company’s standard of ISO45001, this may include some daily, weekly & monthly H&S checks.
- If comfortable, fitting of vinyl graphics to Versatile owned assets, and stripping upon return.
- To assist with bespoke builds on site and around the UK.
- To keep the production and workshop areas tidy at all times.
- To stock take at periodic intervals production consumables and work with the admin team on any new orders required.
- Creation of “fleet packs” for any new versatile assets bought onto the fleet, this will include accurate measurements of artwork areas, photos and drawing of the unit, detailing any specifics like tech and light.
- To use programs such as SketchUp, Illustrator and Becad to create renders and design drawings where required.
- To support the Compliance manager with material certificates on new products where required.
- To act as an ambassador for the organisation continually promoting our values and standards.
- To be available during live events, and out-of-hours as required.
- To travel to event sites to complete onsite builds, snagging and derigs.
- Take care of the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions or omissions.
- Making sure to use the Take 20 Procedure at all times and help us keep our ISO 45001 certification.
- Comply with all Company and statutory fire, health and safety regulations.
- To assist with other areas of the business, for example with sales functions and the wider group, if required outside the normal routine but within the overall scope of the position.
- To make sure yours and department’s working areas are clean and tidy at end of day.
