Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and driven Business Manager to lead our South Luffenham operation and help shape the future success of the business.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded freight forwarding professional to take ownership of a growing operation. Leading a small team of three, you will play a key role in driving business development, maintaining service excellence, and ensuring the continued profitability of the business.
You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and overseeing the day-to-day operational performance of the branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a small team of freight forwarding professionals.
- Drive business growth through proactive business development and customer engagement.
- Identify new opportunities and convert prospects into long-term customers.
- Ensure exceptional service delivery from enquiry through to final delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Oversee operational activities across air, sea, road and rail freight services.
- Manage company profitability, pricing strategies and gross margins.
- Ensure compliance with customs procedures, import/export regulations and industry requirements.
- Monitor performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Several years of proven success in freight forwarding sales & operational management
- Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering business growth.
- Extensive knowledge of air, ocean, road and multimodal freight operations.
- Good understanding of customs procedures, import/export documentation and international trade compliance.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation and organisational abilities.
- Confidence using transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

- Permanent | Full-Time | Office-Based - Monday to Friday
