CS Construction Staffing are currently recruiting for a Highways Operative to join our clients Highways team working on the Norwich project of works. The role is based from our Norwich site, in Norfolk and is accessible and commutable from such locations as Norwich, Wymondham, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Sheringham, Thetford, Swaffham, Fakenham, Cromer, Kings Lynn, Downham Market, Beccles, Gillingham, The Broads, Aylesham, North Walsham, Dereham and the surrounding areas. As the Highways Operative you will be instrumental in the successful delivery of kerbing, paving, drainage and patching works within the Norwich and Norfolk region along with our sub-contractors. Other responsibilities for this role of Highways Operative will include: • Support the delivery of our programme of Highways works • Work within a crew to undertake works orders in a planned fashion and to the highest quality • Have a keen eye for detail and report Safety Observations on our reporting system • Carry out pre-start checks on each machine you are operating (including hired-in plant) • Work to your gangs targets and minimise costs to maximise profitability and offer any alternative methods of working • Ensure all plant is safely and securely stored in the designated areas at the end of your shift • Be proactive and update your personal training plan with your line manager at your regular review sessions • Achievement of Company and Contractual KPI’s and year-on-year improvement of Contract/Scheme KPI’s • H & S – Zero accidents and environmental incidents • Ensure all Health and Safety standards are being adhered too across all works alongside collaborating, promoting and developing Health, Safety and wellbeing innovations You must be able to work overtime to cover out of hours emergency call out as directed It is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Highways Operative will have the following: ESSENTIAL • NRSWA card • CSCS Card • A valid UK full manual car driving licence – no more than 6 points An up to date CV is required, please call Jon Shaw on (phone number removed) for more information Legal Information: We act as an employment agency for permanent work and as an employment business for temporary work.
