About this role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join the Professional Game Academy and Girls Pathway to help develop our Under 21 age group. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with all staff from the Multidisciplinary Team in order to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for all players.

Working Hours:

  • Monday 6:00pm - 10:00pm
  • Tuesday 7:00pm - 10:00pm
  • Wednesday 12:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Thursday 7:00pm - 10:00pm
  • Saturday 11:00am - 2:00pm (hours may vary dependent on weeks)

18 hours per week over 44 weeks each season (July-May)

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Age Group Head Coach in the planning, preparation, delivery, and evaluation of coaching sessions.
  • Share views and opinions on players' development in an open-minded and positive way.
  • Coach in a way that ensures players are encouraged to ask questions and seek feedback for improvement and clarity.
  • Ensure players are communicated the 'why' as well as what of decisions.
  • Know and understand the purpose and 'why' of training sessions and the demands of elite level football.
  • Input into selection decisions.
  • Work across age groups.
  • Work with individual players to set appropriate development targets.
  • Input information into the PGA's monitoring system to allow for analysis.
  • Provide feedback to players using technology where appropriate.
  • Monitor and evaluate player development and provide feedback to players and parents/carers on a regular basis.
  • Liaise with and work closely with coaches, medics and performance staff regarding player development.
  • Support the Age Group Head Coach to ensure all PGA games are well managed with a development philosophy clear to players and parents/carers.
  • Encourage/support the holistic development of players.
  • Be available to players to offer advice, guidance and support on football and personal matters.
  • Ensure player behaviour in the group reflects what is required in the academy.
  • Work with the PGA's Safeguarding Manager to ensure that the wellbeing and welfare of all players and staff is always an operational priority.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
  • Upholding and promoting the Club's policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • FA Level 3 / UEFA B
  • FA DBS
  • FA Safeguarding Children
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role
  • FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or FA Emergency First Aid

Desirable:

  • FA Level 4 / UEFA A Licence
  • FA Advanced Youth Award (AYA).
  • Engages in professional development other than technical football coaching development.
  • Player support qualifications (e.g., Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support)
  • FootballHER qualification
