About This Role

Crystal Palace Football Club are looking for an experienced and skilled Maintenance operative to perform and upkeep tasks such as repairs, inspections, plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, general maintenance and planned improvement services to our facilities. The individual will be responsible for assisting other trades when required to ensure the highest level of service across our sites.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake the day-to-day general maintenance repairs in-house for all our facilities but mainly at our Academy Training Ground.
  • Undertake painting work, such as preparing painting surfaces, removing old paint, mixing and matching paints, and using correct utilities to prepare the surrounding areas in order to prevent messes.
  • Undertake plumbing work, such as fixing leaks, unblocking drains and gutters, shower fitting, and more.
  • Undertake tiling and decorating work, such as preparing surfaces by levelling off with the correct material, measuring and applying tiles, repairing/removing old surfaces, and more.
  • Undertake carpentry work, such as taking measurements and installing shelves, cabinets, handles, locks and more.
  • Preparation of the facilities for home matches.
  • Regular checks and repairs on lights, toilets, and seats.
  • Completing work in accordance with the Crystal Palace specifications and in compliance with the relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Working to operational procedures, safe working practices and Health and Safety procedures as required.
  • Providing general support and assistance to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Inspecting the Training ground and Academy and its adjoining structures on a daily and weekly basis to ensure they are all well-kept and in order.
  • Completing works at other Crystal Palace Football Club grounds and facilities including the Academy Training Ground.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

Experience, Skills And Qualifications

  • Experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Experience in plumbing, painting, decorating, carpentry, and general maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical etc.
  • Ability to read manuals and drawings.
  • Experience using hand and electrical tools.
  • Experience working in large scale stadiums/buildings.
