To manage a caseload of residential conveyancing transactions from inception to completion, with some involvement in commercial property transactions. Ensure all legal aspects are completed efficiently, professionally, and in line with current regulations and firm policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end conveyancing for freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, transfers of equity, and re-mortgages.
  • Draft and review contracts, title documents, and reports on title.
  • Conduct due diligence including searches, title checks, and liaising with clients, solicitors, mortgage lenders, and estate agents.
  • Handle exchanges and completions efficiently.
  • Assist with commercial leases, small business purchases/sales, and basic freehold/leasehold transactions.
  • Liaise with surveyors, landlords, and commercial agents as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with CQS (Conveyancing Quality Scheme), anti-money laundering regulations, and data protection requirements.
  • Keep clients informed regularly, maintaining excellent service and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records on case management systems.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and compliance updates.
  • Assist junior members of the team as required.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Minimum 4 years PQE experience managing your own conveyancing caseload.
  • Strong knowledge of residential property law and Land Registry processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills and experience using case management systems.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience or knowledge of commercial property transactions.
  • Qualification as a Licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor, or Legal Executive (CILEx).
  • Experience with CQS accredited firms.

Working Conditions:

Office-based Standard working hours 9.00am - 6.00pm with flexibility for case deadlines.
