Job Title: Accountant
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join a growing finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role is ideal for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant looking to develop within a dynamic financial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts in line with relevant standards (e.g., UK GAAP / IFRS)
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions where required
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT returns and corporation tax support
Liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors
Maintain and improve financial controls and processes
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
Key Requirements
Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
Minimum 4-5 years' experience in an accounting or finance role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP, or similar)
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Desirable Skills
Experience within the finance services industry
Knowledge of financial modelling or data analysis tools
Experience working in a fast-paced or growing organisation
