Deputy Children's Worker – Full Time
Location: Crystal Care Solutions – Oakley House
Responsibilities
- Leading care practices in the home and deputising for the Registered Manager
- Overseeing staff supervision, development, and performance
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding protocols and regulatory requirements
- Working directly with children to promote positive relationships and outcomes
- Planning shifts, allocating resources, and maintaining smooth day‑to‑day operations
- Supporting the development and implementation of individual care and therapeutic plans
- Collaborating with external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people
- Promoting an inclusive, nurturing, and stable home environment
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role in residential care
- 2 years’ experience working in residential childcare
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Willingness and ability to complete a Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification
- Excellent understanding of child development, trauma‑informed practice, and safeguarding
- Proven team leadership, organisation, and delegation skills
- Knowledge of regulations and legal frameworks in residential care
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Resilience, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleep‑ins
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management
- Experience managing staff performance and leading team development
