Are you looking for a new opportunity within a Care Setting? We are actively recruiting exceptional, caring individuals who want to join our team at Sherwell Manor, Taunton, Somerset! Your role will be based in Sherwell Manor which is well under construction and set to open in June 2026! Crystal Care Collection are focused on making our homes not just luxury places for our residents to live, but also wonderful places for our team members to work.

As a Laundry Assistant you will provide a high-quality laundry service, adhering to the correct fabric care guidelines and following residents' individual care plans where there may be special requirements.

  • To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident's personal information at all times, including their right to privacy, dignity and choice.
  • To understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act, to ensure a safe and efficient laundry service in the home. Understand and have an awareness of Infection Control.
  • To check that all residents' personal clothing and items are individually labelled, maintained in good repair and returned to the correct resident in a timely manner after each laundry session.
  • To ensure all equipment used is in full, safe working order, promptly reporting any faults to both the Maintenance Person and the General Manager.
  • To always be alert and use your own initiative, spot clean any spillages as they occur.
  • To be an active and helpful member of the team, contribute to meetings, attend training sessions and ensure that the care home is a friendly and supportive working environment.

Hours of work: (08:00-17:00) and you will be expected to work on a permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on, followed by three consecutive shifts off, which equates to an average of 31.5 hours per week in total.

Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.53
