We're looking for an enthusiastic Activities Assistant / Lifestyle Assistant to help deliver engaging activities and memorable experiences that enrich the lives of our residents and make every day something to look forward to.
As an Activities Assistant, you'll spend time getting to know our residents, learning about their life stories, interests and aspirations so you can help create personalised activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social connection. Whether you're organising a craft session, supporting a community outing, celebrating a special occasion or simply sharing a conversation over a cup of tea, your role will have a lasting impact on residents' happiness and quality of life.
Working alongside the Lifestyle Manager and wider team, you'll help create a vibrant programme of activities that reflects the unique personalities and preferences of everyone who lives in our home.
- Support the planning and delivery of meaningful group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities and life experiences.
- Develop and maintain links with local schools, charities, churches and community organisations to enhance the activity programme.
- Help organise visits from entertainers, performers and external providers.
- Support larger events and resource-intensive activities to ensure residents can participate safely and enjoyably.
- Gather photographs and stories for newsletters, noticeboards and social media, ensuring appropriate consent has been obtained.
- Be flexible to support occasional evening activities and special events when required.
Has a positive, creative and enthusiastic personality. Enjoys building relationships and making people smile. Is compassionate, patient and genuinely interested in improving the lives of older people. Previous experience in activities, care or customer-facing roles is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on followed by three consecutive shifts off. Flexibility to support occasional evening activities and events where required.
Pool 2: £13.53 per hour. Full induction training programme. Paid breaks. Fully funded Enhanced DBS check. Refer a Friend bonus scheme. Uniform tunic provided. Free meal on shift. Ongoing training and development opportunities.
