Are you an experienced care assistant looking for the next step in your career? Oyster Care Homes are focused on making our homes not just luxury places for residents to live, but also wonderful places for our team members to work. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will have a high level of responsibility including managing and administering medication, reviewing and updating resident care plans, mentoring less experienced staff, and leading by example as an integral part of the Care Team. This is a busy role where the highest level of care must be delivered to ensure our residents' needs are met.
Responsibilities
- Provide the highest level of personal care and attention to residents, following individual care plans, and ensuring all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive.
- Act as a key worker for a named group of residents, carrying out responsibilities defined in the training manual.
- Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements relevant to Health & Safety, COSHH, and the Health & Social Care Act; maintain a safe environment in the home.
- Maintain awareness of Infection Control.
- Liaise with other care professionals regarding residents' care needs.
- Monitor residents' physical and mental well-being; report changes to a senior on duty and accurately maintain and update residents' records as required.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of residents' personal information and any incidents that occur in day-to-day care.
- Make and change beds, tidy residents' rooms (with permission), undertake light cleaning, and assist in keeping the home clean, pleasant and welcoming.
- Assist with serving meals and drinks, presenting meals and refreshments appealingly, and provide appropriate support with eating and drinking as needed.
Schedule
Permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on, followed by three consecutive shifts off. Full Time Days: 08:00–20:00, averaging 42 hours per week. Bank contracts available.
Compensation
Hourly rate: £14.85 (days) per hour.
