The Legal team provides legal and regulatory advice to ensure that all CDC products and services are compliant per local regulations while also meeting the needs of CDC customers. This 12-month fixed term role is based in London reporting to the Head of Commercial, Employment and Litigation Counsel who is based in Hong Kong. This is a fixed term contract for maternity leave cover, and you will be required to provide a good level of support on a broad range of employment law matters impacting the EMEIA, USA, Canada and the Middle East regions.
Responsibilities:
- You will be part of the Crypto.com corporate legal team handling global employment matters (contentious and non-contentious) with a focus on the UK, EU, the Americas, Canada and the Middle East.
- Drafting and reviewing employment documentation including employment agreements, incentive agreements, employment letters and other employment legal documentation, and provide solid advisory advice.
- Conduct in-depth legal research.
- Work with external counsel to ensure our employment arrangements comply with local labour laws.
- Liaising with stakeholders across multi-jurisdictional teams on various employment-related issues.
- Advising on issues such as compensation, incentives, share schemes, regulatory changes, discipline, performance management and termination exits to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- You may be expected to assist on other corporate legal matters from time to time, including intellectual properties, general procurement, and data protection, if needed, but you are not expected to be an expert in these areas.
- Maintain an awareness of legal developments in the employment law area.
Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer NQ-2 years PQE (England and Wales) with district experience in employment legal work handling non-contentious and contentious employment issues in a major law firm, large multi-national corporation or equivalent.
- Previous in-house experience is desirable.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in collaborating with various stakeholders across multi-jurisdictional teams.
- Ideally experience of handling international labour and employment issues.
- Strong organizational/project management skills, ability to handle high volume and balance competing demands.
- Willingness to accommodate calls and meetings with different time zones when required.
- Able to identify problems, issues and able to propose solutions.
