HIGHER! is a new business branch of Crypto Banter on a mission to help people change their lives through dopamine-fueled, 1-7 day challenges across crypto, AI, trading & beyond. Our challenges guide achievers through step‑by‑step transformations, checkpoint by checkpoint, delivering real wins and fast results. We’re building a community of achievers who level up together. We’re in the early stages and scaling rapidly. Our first challenge proved that the model works. Now, we’re expanding across multiple categories and hosts. As a new vertical, we focus on user acquisition beyond Crypto Banter’s current audience, challenges creation, and building a thriving community. Everything we do is about helping people change their lives. Let’s go HIGHER!

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack AI product engineer who is strongest on the frontend (Vue 3 + TypeScript), solid on the backend, and very comfortable working with AI as a core part of the workflow.

You will:

  • Own key user journeys end‑to‑end (challenge join, exchange signup, paywalls, UID submission, community access)
  • Ship fast in a small team and work directly with the founding team
  • Use AI tools as a force multiplier
  • Work closely with product, design and data so what we ship is simple, measurable and stable

Rough split: 70% frontend, 30% backend and integrations.

What you’ll do

  • Build Challenge and Exchange Flows: Implement challenge onboarding, exchange sign‑ups, and community gates using Vue 3 and TypeScript by building reusable, composable components that handle all validation, error, and loading states
  • Raise the Bar on Engineering and AI Usage: Maintain a clean, understandable codebase while utilising AI tools daily for scaffolding and refactors, while contributing to the development of simple standards for PR practices and error handling
  • Backend Integration: Integrate with existing Laravel APIs and services via Inertia.js to handle authentication, security, and data storage requirements for reporting and finance partners
  • Third‑Party Integration and Defensive Coding for Exchanges: Build robust, defensive integrations with partner exchanges like Binance and Bybit, incorporating circuit breakers, retries, and fallback states to manage API failures and rate limits
  • Tracking, Events and Reliability: Instrument key conversion events via PostHog and guard against regressions with pragmatic testing while optimising for fast page loads and sensible caching
  • Work Tightly with Product, Design and Data: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to break down specifications, provide honest technical feedback on risk and cost, and define structured data events for accurate reporting

Your Skills And Experience

  • 5+ years building user‑facing web applications in small product teams or startups
  • Strong experience with Vue 3 (Composition API), TypeScript, and modern CSS (Tailwind). If you are currently strong in React + TypeScript and happy to move into Vue 3 quickly, we are open to that
  • You use AI tools regularly, but still read and own the code you ship
  • Solid backend skills, ideally with PHP/Laravel or similar MVC framework. Bonus if you have touched TypeScript backends – we have some pieces there too, but the core is Laravel; REST or GraphQL APIs
  • Experience building resilient integrations with third‑party APIs
  • Comfortable working with analytics/monitoring tools (PostHog, GA4, Sentry or similar)
  • Proven ability to ship fast: you can break work down, ship small, and iterate
  • Clear written and spoken English – you can write specs, tickets and PRs others can follow
  • Daytime overlap with South African hours

Nice to have

  • Experience in crypto, trading or fintech
  • Experience with Inertia.js, Laravel Vapor, or serverless deployments
  • Experience with feature flags or config‑driven flows
  • Cloud platforms like Vercel, AWS or GCP

How We Work

  • Small, sharp team. Low politics, high ownership
  • We care about clean user journeys and real business impact, not shipping features for the sake of it
  • We expect you to treat AI as an extra teammate. The point is not to hand‑craft everything by yourself, but to deliver high quality outcomes quickly and reliably

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.
