Cryptio is building the data infrastructure for the crypto economy, helping businesses and institutions automate financial reporting and compliance for digital assets. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and scale engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. In this role, you’ll balance technical leadership, project management, team management, and strategic execution, ensuring we build a high-performing, scalable, and secure platform. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and Leadership to drive innovation and shape the future of crypto. Responsibilities
- Technical & Delivery Leadership
- Lead and oversee multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment, efficient delivery, and accountability for technical outcomes.
- Own and drive engineering execution for critical projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to align engineering efforts with company objectives.
- Collaborate with Staff Engineers to scale and optimise our platform, ensuring performance, security, and reliability as we grow.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, guiding the team in best practices, code quality, and architectural decisions.
- People & Team Management
- Serve as a key member of the tech leadership team to shape and improve engineering practices at Cryptio.
- Lead and mentor a team of team leads and engineers, helping them grow in their careers.
- Hire, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
- Foster a high-performance culture that values ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct 1:1s, feedback sessions, and career development discussions to support team members’ growth.
- Engineering Process & Collaboration
- Improve engineering workflows and processes to increase team efficiency.
- Ensure collaboration across engineering teams.
- Advocate for best practices in software development and delivery.
Mandatory Requirements
- Technical Expertise
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, including hands-on coding.
- 3+ years of engineering leadership experience (as an Engineering Manager, Lead Engineer, or equivalent).
- Strong technical background in advanced backend or full-stack development, with experience in data heavy systems.
- Experience working with modern backend stacks (Rust or Node.js) and databases (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse).
- Familiarity with AWS.

- Proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Ability to coach and mentor engineers, fostering career growth and strong team dynamics.
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience in hiring, performance management, and scaling teams in a startup environment.
- Industry Knowledge (Bonus Points)
- Previous experience in fintech, crypto, or financial software is a strong plus.
- Understanding of blockchain, digital assets, and financial reporting/compliance.
