The overall purpose of the role is to undertake repairs, modifications and maintenance of our fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs, maintenance and servicing on light and large goods vehicles.
- Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic and vehicle electrical/electronic systems.
- Apply current road vehicle maintenance standards and diagnostic techniques.
- Work independently or as part of a team, and be available for a 24‑hour standby/call‑out rota.
Qualifications:
- Recognised qualification in LGV/HGV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- LGV Driving Licence class C minimum.
- Experience under standard requirements for light and large goods vehicles.
- Knowledge of road transport for class 4, 5, 7 and LGV vehicles.

New starters will commence at the bottom of the salary grade and receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis. We offer 28 days annual leave (pro‑rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years to 32 days, plus an extra day each year up to 37 days. We also operate a generous flexi‑time attendance scheme with up to 13 days accrued in a year. All eligible staff are auto‑enrolled onto the Local Government Pension Scheme with contributions ranging from 5.5% to 12.5%.
