The Role
As an Onboard Host and Brand Storyteller, you will be the face of the guest experience β bringing destinations, brands, and onboard opportunities to life through live presentations, hosted events, and personalised guest engagement. You will take to the stage. You will own your audience. You will make every guest feel informed, inspired, and excited about everything the voyage has to offer β onboard and ashore. This is a role for someone who thrives in the spotlight, performs under pressure, and understands instinctively how to connect with people from every walk of life.
What You Will Do
- On Stage & In the Room
- Deliver captivating live presentations and hosted shows to large guest audiences in onboard theatre and lounge settings.
- Host destination showcases, shopping events, enrichment talks, and branded experiences throughout each voyage.
- Bring ports-of-call, local culture, and onboard opportunities to life through compelling, scripted and spontaneous storytelling.
- Engage guests personally at the end of every presentation β answering questions, building rapport, and guiding decisions.
- Guest Engagement & Experience
- Maintain a warm, authoritative, and highly visible presence throughout the voyage β at events, at the gangway, and across guest-facing areas.
- Offer personalised one-on-one consultations covering destinations, shopping, shore excursions, local experiences, and onboard offerings.
- Build genuine connections with guests, anticipating needs and curating experiences that make their voyage truly memorable.
- Act as the go-to expert for ports-of-call β knowledgeable, confident, and always guest-first.
- Commercial Contribution
- Support onboard and shoreside revenue goals through authentic, guest-led engagement and recommendations.
- Guide guests confidently through purchasing decisions β never with pressure, always with expertise and trust.
- Collaborate with onboard retail, excursions, and revenue teams to deliver a cohesive and commercially effective guest journey.
- Marketing & Event Management
- Oversee all elements of event scheduling, promotion, and delivery across each voyage.
- Manage onboard marketing materials, digital screens, daily programme listings, and stateroom communications.
- Ensure all content β digital and print β is accurate, on-brand, and timed perfectly to each itinerary.
- Distribute destination guides and programme materials at the gangway and key guest touchpoints.
Who You Are
You are a natural in front of an audience. You have presence that fills a room before you have said a word β and the warmth to make every individual guest feel like the conversation was just for them. You may currently be or have experience as:
- A cruise ship entertainer, auctioneer, or onboard presenter.
- A tour guide, destination specialist, or travel host.
- A TV, radio, or digital content presenter.
- A professional MC, event host, or public speaker.
- A brand ambassador or luxury lifestyle presenter.
- A performer, actor, or theatrical professional with commercial instincts.
- A trainer, educator, or enrichment specialist who loves an audience.
