Forge Technician Birmingham Salary: £54,000 - £55,000 + Overtime + Specialist Training + OEM Courses Shifts: 4 on 4 off (Days) A vacancy has arisen within the Forge Department for a Forge Technician reporting to the Production Manager, working on a 4x4 Full Continental Day shift pattern. Main Duties: The safe operation of the forging press, ensuring all outlined requirements related to the product quality and equipment parameters are adhered to. Effective communication within the Forge Department, specifically relating to the transfer of product between RUMX and Davy Presses. Ensuring all equipment is maintained to a standard which enables the business requirements to be achieved. Emphasis on breakdown elimination and problem solving, along with preventative and non-intrusive maintenance on the RUMX Forge. Direct input into the continuous improvement culture, which will include individual project ownership. Experience and attributes required: Skill base that includes either electrical or mechanical maintenance, ideally an Apprenticeship. Problem-solving skills. Metal manufacturing technical knowledge and experience. Competence working with heavy machinery. Ability to safely operate a forklift truck (although FLT training will be given). Conversant with a Total Planned Maintenance [TPM] approach; drive and control systems. Good understanding and working knowledge of current safe working practices Join our team and make a difference!
