Birmingham £54,000 plus quarterly bonus overtime – £60,000 – £70,000 OTE

Join a Global Leader in Metal Manufacturing. This is a great opportunity to join one of the leading manufacturers in Birmingham. They are a very well-established business who supply mainly the leading aerospace manufacturers.

The types of machines you will be working on as an electrical maintenance engineer on a day-to-day basis will be large industrial machines. Experience within heavy industry and experience with PLC fault finding is required.

This role will be based in the Engineering Maintenance Department reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be working a full continental shift pattern.

The postholder may come into contact with technology or equipment controlled by local and/or U.S. Government legislation and will be required to undertake specific security screening protocols.

The purpose of the role: To provide routine maintenance support across all plant and development of new and established equipment throughout the Plant. A culture of continuous improvement, right first time and preventative maintenance operates within this area and all individuals are required to work within this framework.

Main duties:

  • Provide preventative, corrective, and reactive work across all plant equipment and facilities.
  • An interesting and varied team-based role, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities for routine maintenance, fault finding, rewiring and monitoring across a wide range of industrial equipment.

Skills and experience required:

  • Apprentice trained with relevant technical electrical qualifications (NVQ/ONC or equivalent).
  • Excellent fault finding skills.
  • Working knowledge of PLC’s and servers, fault finding and interrogation.
  • Working knowledge of Scada systems.
  • Previous preventive maintenance experience.
  • Condition monitoring experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret and mark-up electrical drawings.
  • Ability to understand the set up and configuration of variable speed drives.
  • Good understanding IEE wiring regulations.
  • Good understanding of vacuum technology forges and presses.
  • Experience working in a medium to heavy engineering environment.
  • Safe working knowledge including PTW and Risk Assessments.
  • Multi-skilled i.e. basic fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, FLT licence, crane driving and slinging.

Full Continental, 4 on, 4 off days and nights, working 7am - 7pm on days or 7pm - 7am on nights.
