We are looking for a developer to help us code games – we use Pixi together with other libraries. Ideally, you would have a couple of years' experience in front-end development, but if you can code bare metal JS/TS and like games, we want to hear from you.

The role is fully remote; however, our (small) office in Sheffield is also available for those who prefer to work in an office environment. WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT CANDIDATES WHO ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE UNITED KINGDOM.

So what's the role, then?

  • Coding of HTML5 based casino games, working with art, audio and QA teams
  • Read project specifications and design & code new elements as necessary
  • Examine existing code/software base and modify or re-write as necessary
  • Develop and refine the UI (in conjunction with the designers)
  • Self-test, evaluation and updating of code produced
  • Help us develop and update our framework

What skills and experience do I need?

  • Front End dev experience using hand-coded JS/TS, CSS and HTML
  • Experience of Pixi is a big advantage but not essential
  • Experience of Git & npm
  • Solid experience of using programming frameworks and code libraries
  • Methodical approach to design, development and testing – and problem solving
  • An understanding of XML or JSON is very beneficial
  • Solid debugging skills using Chrome dev tools and others
  • Advanced use of JavaScript including the use of prototypes and closures is very beneficial
  • Good communication skills are important

What else might be handy?

  • A passport is useful – you may be travelling abroad to visit exhibitions and clients
  • An interest in gaming is good as you will hopefully want to contribute to game design

Alright, and what about the company? What's in it for me?

  • Competitive salary depending on your experience and skills
  • 25 days holiday per year
  • Company pension
  • Based in the middle of Sheffield, in the Electric Works digital campus
  • Want to host coding or dev events? We'll sponsor them
  • More fun stuff – help us decide future benefits

Unsure? Got questions? Please give us a shout with your CV.
