This job is for a Senior BMS Support Engineer in the East of England & Western Home Counties. Are you an experienced BMS Support Engineer looking for a role where your technical capability is genuinely valued, your development is supported, and you can work on a broad range of building management systems across service, upgrades and diagnostics?

Our client is one of the world's largest independently employee-owned BMS companies, delivering high-quality Building Energy Management System solutions across a wide range of commercial and critical environments. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Senior BMS Support Engineer to join their established service and support team covering the East of England and Western Home Counties region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving, and customer interaction, while also wanting exposure to upgrade and modernisation projects rather than purely reactive service work. The successful candidate will undertake planned preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and support activities for a variety of BMS and control systems in line with agreed service level agreements.

The role will also involve delivering turnkey upgrade solutions ranging from controller replacements through to larger BMS system upgrades and improvement works. You will also respond to customer callouts and technical issues, systematically identifying faults, resolving system problems and ensuring clients receive a high standard of technical support and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on BMS systems
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults across building control systems
  • Respond to reactive service calls and system failures
  • Deliver controller replacements and BMS upgrade projects
  • Undertake system modifications, improvements and optimisation works
  • Liaise directly with customers and provide a high level of technical support
  • Produce clear service documentation and technical reports
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with company standards and SLAs
Experience & Technical Requirements

Applicants should have experience working within the Building Management Systems / Building Controls industry and possess strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities. Experience with the following systems is highly desirable:

  • Distech Controls
  • Trend (including current and legacy products)

Experience with any of the following would also be advantageous:

  • Tridium
  • Siemens
  • Schneider Electric
  • Cylon
Requirements
  • Proven BMS service/support engineering experience
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot technical issues
  • Good customer-facing and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • PC literate and comfortable working with BMS software and associated systems
