Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineer with commissioning experience who wants to strengthen their expertise, expand their knowledge of systems, and take on a role that offers both variety and career growth.

In this position, you’ll be a key part of a projects team delivering cutting-edge BMS solutions across London and, at times, further afield. You’ll be trusted with ensuring projects run smoothly, deadlines are met, and systems perform exactly as intended. From commissioning and configuration to client training and demonstrations, you’ll be at the heart of delivering high-quality solutions that genuinely make buildings smarter, greener, and more efficient.

What sets this role apart is the opportunity to grow. You’ll work with a range of systems, including Trend and Tridium as a baseline, but also gain exposure to Delta, Schneider, and Distech – with structured training available to broaden your skills. Alongside that, you’ll develop your ability to liaise confidently with subcontractors, clients, and colleagues, honing both your technical and interpersonal expertise. You’ll also play a part in mentoring trainees on site, strengthening your leadership credentials.

Key responsibilities

  • Commissioning and pre-commissioning of BMS controls across a variety of plant and equipment
  • Configuring and reviewing project software and documentation, applying modifications as required
  • Identifying and resolving commissioning issues and snags, ensuring projects stay on track
  • Liaising with subcontractors and clients to ensure designs are executed correctly
  • Providing client demonstrations, training sessions, and user familiarisation
  • Supporting and mentoring new trainees on site
  • Occasional travel outside London to cover projects in the South and East of England

What you’ll bring

  • Hands-on commissioning experience within BMS projects
  • Knowledge of Trend and Tridium systems (essential)
  • Familiarity with protocols such as Modbus, MBus, and BACnet (advantageous)
  • Exposure to Delta, Schneider, or Distech systems (training available if not already experienced)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients and subcontractors
