The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The principal aim of this role is to support the development of best practices and standardisation of system design, integration, software, graphics and other supporting documentation/services. In addition, a major part of this role is to support the delivery teams through training and technical support, and whilst this may be via phone/video you will also be required to carry out this support on site. This role also provides a key resource to support R&D project and onboard new solutions into the region.

Main duties & Responsibilities

  • Successful delivery of all works under their control, ensuring all works are delivered on time and within the allocated cost budgets.
  • Create standardised application services including, but not limited to, software, graphics, head ends.
  • Writing and compiling of standardised software from the description of operation, panel drawings, client's specification and mechanical drawings/layouts.
  • Engineering of graphics and BMS supervisors.
  • Supporting the project manager, project engineers, and commissioning engineers on project related jobs.
  • Technically support internal colleagues to assist in resolving issues with applications works.
  • Work closely with internal colleagues to co-ordinate end-to-end delivery of applications services.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager in R&D and applications projects.
  • Carry out research and development of new technologies which will benefit the organisation.
  • Actively participate in the Innovations Forum, including membership control, communications, and content.
  • Use the Innovations Forum to create a technical support network.
  • Support engineer PDPs along with their line manager, through training and mentoring of applications services.
  • Work confidently within a pressurised environment, multi-tasking between the different operational disciplines.
  • Recognise the importance of procedures and processes and adhere to these to deliver a high standard of customer service.
  • Assist with any customer escalation issues with application projects where necessary.
  • Where required, handover of applications work to project team on site.
  • Assist the E.ON Controls Sales Team with providing a cost-effective solution.

Specific Job Knowledge & Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in similar applications role.
  • An excellent understanding of HVAC control principles and software logic.
  • Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and panel drawings.
  • Understanding/appreciation of LAN and IP structuring.
  • Excellent knowledge of at least two of the following BMS systems: Tridium, Trend, Distech, ALC.
  • Passion for new technologies and innovative solutions.

Desirable:

  • Good electrical knowledge, HVAC knowledge and panel knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the following additional BMS systems: Honeywell/ Siemens/ Cylon/ Delta/ Easy IO/ Sauter/ Schneider/ ALC.

KPIS

  • Applications Services - Standardise applications services to reduce engineering time and improve GM.
  • Quality Control - Ensure standardisation is applied throughout ECS.
  • Staff Utilisation/Retention - Create application training plans to support engineer PDPs.
  • Process & Systems - Process review, improve internal communications and management systems.
