Are you someone who has experience managing projects and knows a lot about building management systems (BMS) and extra-low voltage systems (ELVS)? Do you like taking on challenging projects and working with a team to get things done right? If so, we would love to hear from you. As a BMS / ELVS Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing large-scale BMS projects from design through to installation, commissioning, and handover. You will manage project teams, subcontractors, and client relationships, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This is a site-based role in Central London, where you will be at the heart of high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of BMS projects, including design, engineering, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Provide leadership and support to project teams and subcontractors.
- Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
- Develop and manage project timelines, schedules, and budgets.
- Monitor project status, risks, and deliverables, reporting progress regularly.
- Identify and capture variations to contract works, ensuring proper documentation.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards (ISO 9001 & 14001).
- Maximise project profitability through efficient work management.
- Identify additional work opportunities and ensure appropriate costs are claimed.
- Prepare and submit payment applications, cost reports, and forecasts.
- Review and certify subcontractor applications and cost submissions.
- Manage procurement processes, including purchase requisitions and subcontracts.
- Take overall responsibility for health and safety management on projects.
- Prepare and submit method statements and risk assessments (RAMS).
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and site safety policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to maintain safety standards.
- Provide technical and managerial support to project teams.
- Mentor and support junior staff and trainees.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Skills Required:
- Strong BMS industry experience with knowledge of ELVS packages (Data, Security, Fire Systems).
- Proven ability to deliver large-scale BMS projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Excellent commercial and contractual awareness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and web-based document control systems.
- Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ONC/HNC or above).
- CSCS Cardholder.
- SMSTS Certified.
- First Aid Qualified.
- Full UK driving licence (clean).
