Are you a BMS Project Engineer looking to work on smart, sustainable, and energy-efficient buildings? Do you have the expertise to design, engineer, and commission cutting-edge Building Management Systems (BMS)? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to take your career to the next level!
As a BMS Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle of Building and Energy Management Systems (BEMS), including design, engineering, software development, commissioning, and testing. You will work across multiple projects, ensuring they meet the highest technical standards and client expectations. This is a site-based role in Central London.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop project documentation, including points lists and descriptions of operation.
- Write BMS software in line with design requirements.
- Create bespoke graphics for BMS head-end systems.
- Conduct off-site panel inspections and BMS software & graphics tests.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for BMS panels.
- Carry out pre-commissioning and full commissioning of BMS control panels, peripherals, and third-party equipment.
- Attend commissioning meetings and support on-site witness testing.
- Identify and develop improved commissioning procedures and techniques.
- Work with project managers and engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Control System.
- Use calibrated test equipment to ensure accurate validation.
- Ensure all BMS installations meet contract documentation and industry standards.
- Provide as-built documentation to the engineering team.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of commissioning records and daily reports.
- Ensure all work is carried out efficiently to maximise profitability.
- Identify and support additional work opportunities, securing appropriate costs.
- Maintain a site diary documenting meetings, project updates, and client interactions.
- Submit timesheets and project documentation as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to solve challenges and enhance efficiency.
- Support the development and training of trainee engineers.
- Strong knowledge of BMS control systems, including Schneider, Trend, Distech, Tridium, and Delta.
- Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ONC/HNC standard or above).
- Understanding of building services (mechanical and electrical systems).
- Familiarity with BS7671, CIBSE, and BSRIA industry standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
- CSCS cardholder (or willingness to obtain one).
- Experience working with smart building technologies and cloud-based BMS solutions.
- Strong networking skills within the BMS controls industry.
