About the role:
CRU is undergoing a data transformation to revolutionise how commodity market information is delivered. The Junior Data Engineer will help develop internal analytical data platforms and customer-facing data products, working with modern cloud and data engineering tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to power new data products in the commodity industry
- Use modern data analytics and data quality tools to ensure data meets strict standards
- Design and implement data pipelines using best-in-class tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt)
- Build scalable cloud infrastructure on Azure using infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)
- Produce high-quality data software following coding standards and best practices
- Contribute ideas to improve processes, tools and products; support both internal platforms and customer-facing solutions
Qualifications:
- Degree-level education preferably in a technology-focused subject (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) from a top university, or equivalent through professional qualifications and experience
Skills & Experience:
- Basic SQL experience
- Basic Python experience
- Experience with BI tools such as Sigma or ThoughtSpot
